Switchboard Upgrades

Many older North Shore homes have old outdated switchboards.  A switchboard upgrade is often recommended before installing an EV charger, heat pump or undertaking major renovations.

  • Modern switchboards include RCD's that quickly cut power if they detect an electric shock.

  • Ceramic fuses and outdated switchboards can be unreliable, harder to rest and may not meet electrical safety standards.

  • Additions to your home such as EV chargers, heat pumps, induction cooktops, spas and home offices all require more electrical capacity than older switchboards can provide.

Signs you may need a switchboard upgrade

  • You still have ceramic fuses.

  • Lights flicker or circuit breakers trip regularly.

  • You notice burning smells or heat around the switchboard.

  • You're renovating or adding high-powered appliances.

  • Your switchboard is full with no room for additional circuits.
